The First Day of School in 2016

At 8:00 everyone was ready to see their "new" schoolroom!

Ruthanne is in Kindergarten.

Nathan is in K-3.

They were excited about all their new supplies: crayons, markers, scissors,

crayon boxes...

...And a pencil sharpener, crayon eraser, pencil, fresh

gravenstein apple, and more from Papa and Mama Gaard.

Nathan is excited about school too!

They learned how and where to line up.

Nathan is the line leader and light helper.

Both of them were learning where to stand

by their desks and to stand tall like soldiers.

Nathan did a great job! Hannah is learning

where to play and what to touch and not to touch.

Nathan is the Bible holder for the morning routine.

Bible time is the most important part of the day! We learned

how God created the Light. Thank you Bapa & Mama Bird for the new

ABeka Bible flash-a-cards that we will be using!

Ruthanne is the ABC Chart helper. Our apple helper

chart is right behind her.

Her first kindergarten worksheet for Phonics.

She learned the sound /l/ today. Well... she

already knew it, but we reviewed.

Fruit break...yummy apples!

They pretty much eat the whole apple.

At Math time w played a game. Collect the circles!

Nathan did a great job!

Ruthanne went really fast, but Nathan put

his in a nice, neat line. He knew right away

which ones were circles.

They had fun!

Any circles left?

And for art time they drew a circle with

their brand new markers and then painted

it with their new red paint!
